This privacy policy explains how vocatext.com ("VocaText", "we", "us") handles your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

We collect personal information directly from you and automatically through your use of the site, to provide the transcription service, operate and secure the site, process VocaText Pro subscriptions, respond to your requests, measure audience, display advertising, and meet legal obligations.

We disclose personal information to service providers acting on our behalf: hosting (Cloudflare, Inc.), analytics and advertising (Google), and payment processing (Stripe). We do not sell your personal information.

5. Overseas disclosure (APP 8)

Because our service providers are located overseas, your personal information is likely to be disclosed to recipients outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure such recipients handle your information consistently with the APPs.

6. Retention

Contact-form data is kept for 3 years from the last contact; connection data and technical logs for up to 12 months; cookies for up to 13 months. Uploaded audio is deleted immediately after transcription.

7. Access and correction (APP 12 and 13)

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Email contact [at] vocatext [dot] com with proof of identity; we will respond within a reasonable period.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

9. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the APPs, please contact us first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
