This Privacy Notice for U.S. residents describes how vocatext.com ("VocaText", "we", "us") collects, uses and discloses personal information, and the rights of California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA"). Terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used here.
1. Business

2. Personal information we collect
In the preceding twelve (12) months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers (name, email address, phone number, IP address) - provided by you or collected automatically;
- Commercial information - records of VocaText Pro subscriptions purchased or considered;
- Internet or other electronic network activity - pages visited, referring pages, interactions with the site;
- Geolocation data - approximate, country-level location inferred from your IP address;
- Audio and sensory data - the audio files you upload for transcription, which are processed in real time and deleted immediately afterwards; they are never stored.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from consumers under 16 years of age.
3. Sources of personal information
We collect personal information directly from you (uploads, contact form, checkout), automatically from your device and browser (cookies and similar technologies), and from our service providers (analytics, advertising and payment).
4. How we use personal information
- To provide the transcription service and process your audio files;
- To operate, secure and improve the site;
- To process VocaText Pro subscriptions through our payment provider;
- To respond to your requests;
- To measure audience and display advertising;
- To comply with legal obligations.
5. Disclosure, "sale" and "sharing" of personal information
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of third-party analytics and advertising technologies (including Google) may be considered a "sale" or a "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA. The categories that may be sold or shared for these purposes are identifiers, internet activity and geolocation data, disclosed to advertising and analytics providers.
We disclose personal information to service providers for business purposes: hosting (Cloudflare, Inc.), analytics and advertising (Google), and payment processing (Stripe).
6. Your California privacy rights
Subject to certain exceptions, California residents have the right to:
- Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected, the sources, the purposes, and the third parties with whom we shared it;
- Delete the personal information we collected from you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information;
- Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
7. How to exercise your rights
To exercise your right to know, delete or correct, email contact [at] vocatext [dot] com. We will verify your request using the information you provide and respond within the timeframes required by the CCPA. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
To opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, email us at the address above. We also honor opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC) transmitted by your browser.
8. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary: contact-form data for 3 years from the last contact; connection data and technical logs for up to 12 months; cookies for up to 13 months. Uploaded audio is deleted immediately after transcription.
9. Data security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration or disclosure.
10. "Shine the Light"
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.

We may update this notice from time to time. The date below indicates the latest revision.
